Founders Course Hole #5
623 Yard Par 5
Yep that's right, 623 yards! A stream crosses the fairway at about 350 yards. While not in play from the tee for the very longest hitters, if your drive misses the fairway it is very much in play on your second shot. This same stream guards the right side of the lay up area and the green, and the slope beside the stream feeds the ball into the water. It's like the Swilcan Burn in front of the first green at St. Andrews. It's only about four yards wide but it catches everything that's hit within 50 yards of it.
The toughest pins are along the shelf on the left side of the green because a miss to the left leaves an almost imossible up and down.
The final hole in the front nine "gauntlet" of holes two through five, players who leave this green at even par for the day will have an edge on the field and the chance for a great round.
